Project Reporting

Project Reports & Activity Timeline

Last updated September 18, 2026  ·  2 min read

Two ways to catch up on a project’s status without checking every task individually: a numeric report you can export, and a readable, chronological timeline.

Exporting a Project Report

A project’s report page summarizes its task totals, completed vs. outstanding, and a breakdown by assignee, and can be exported as a PDF for status updates or client reporting.

To export a report:

  1. Open the project and go to its Report view.
  2. Review the summary total tasks, completed, pending, and a per-assignee breakdown.

Viewing the Activity Timeline

The activity timeline gives you a chronological, story-like view of everything that’s happened on a project, useful for catching up quickly after time away.

To view the timeline:

  1. Open the project.
  2. Go to the Activity (or Timeline) tab.
  3. Scroll through events in chronological order, newest first.
  4. Use filters to narrow by event type or team member, if you only need part of the picture.

Good to know:

  • The report reflects task data at the moment you view it, and is a PDF snapshot; there’s no separate Excel/CSV export for project reports specifically. Reopen the report if you need the latest numbers before exporting again.
  • The timeline is closely related to the change log, but presented as a readable narrative rather than a raw list, great for writing status updates without trying to remember everything that happened.
