Understanding Your Project’s History: Change Logs & Workflow Events

Last updated September 14, 2026  ·  1 min read

Every meaningful change to a project edits, status changes, membership updates is recorded automatically, giving you a reliable record of what happened and when.

Viewing the Change Log

To view the change log:

  1. Open the project.
  2. Go to the History (or Activity) tab.
  3. Scroll through the chronological list of changes.
  4. Use any available filters to narrow down by change type or team member.

What Counts as a Workflow Event

Workflow events are the automatic entries logged whenever something significant happens on a project they’re what populates the change log and activity timeline. You don’t need to do anything to generate these.

  • Project created or its details edited.
  • A member added to or removed from the project.
  • A task’s status changing (e.g., moved to In Review).
  • A deliverable submitted, approved, or rejected.
  • A milestone reached.

Good to know:

  • This is a good first stop when something looks different than you remembered and you’re not sure why. Change logs are read-only, a record rather than something you edit directly.
  • Workflow events are what make the History tab and Activity Timeline useful; without them, tracking project changes would rely entirely on people remembering to communicate updates.
