Creating & Assigning Tasks

Setting Up a Recurring Task

Last updated September 14, 2026  ·  1 min read

For work that repeats on a schedule, such as a weekly report or a daily checklist, you can set a task to recur instead of recreating it manually every time.

To set up a recurring task:

  1. Start creating a new task as usual, and set its type to Recurring.
  2. Choose a repeat pattern: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Custom.
  3. Optionally choose to skip weekends.
  4. Set a recurrence start date and end date — both are required for a recurring task.
  5. Optionally define a deliverable template (title, description, quantity) that gets generated each time the task recurs — if you skip this, a simple default deliverable is generated automatically.
  6. Save to create the recurring task.

Good to know:

  • If you don’t set a recurrence start/end date, PMS will fall back to the task’s own start/due dates — but for a recurring task, you’ll be required to provide at least one pair.
  • Recurring tasks automatically generate their deliverables on schedule — you don’t need to create each occurrence’s output by hand.
