Offboarding
Requesting or Completing a User’s Deletion
Deleting a user is permanent it removes their account and their files entirely. Managers can only flag an account for deletion; only an Admin can actually carry it out.
Requesting Deletion (Manager)
Managers can’t permanently delete an account themselves; instead, they can flag one for deletion, which notifies Admins to review and act on it.
To request deletion:
- Open the member’s profile.
- Click Request Deletion.
- Confirm Admins are notified that this account has been flagged for deletion.
Permanently Deleting (Admin)
This is only available to Admins, and it’s the last step after a resignation or deletion request, not the first.
To delete a user:
- Open the member’s profile.
- Click Delete User.
- Confirm; you’ll typically be warned this can’t be undone.
Good to know:
- A deletion request doesn’t delete anything by itself it’s a flag and a notification. An Admin still has to carry out the actual deletion.
- You can’t delete your own account, and the founding Admin of your organization can never be deleted by anyone.
- In most cases, resigning someone is the right move deletion is meant for cleanup, not routine offboarding, since it permanently removes their files.
