Resigning a Team Member (with Impact Preview)

Last updated September 15, 2026  ·  1 min read

Resigning someone is an Admin/Manager action, not something a person does to their own account it’s how you formally offboard a team member while cleanly handing off their unfinished work. Previewing the impact first shows exactly what will be affected.

Previewing Resignation Impact

To preview the impact:

  1. Open the member’s profile.
  2. Click Resignation Impact (or similar, near the resign action).
  3. Review the summary of tasks, projects, and other work currently tied to this person.

Resigning the Member

To resign a team member:

  1. Open the member’s profile.
  2. Optionally review the impact preview first.
  3. Click Resign.
  4. Add any notes about the resignation, if relevant.
  5. Confirm

Good to know:

  • The preview is a look only; nothing changes until you actually complete the resignation.
  • Resigning deactivates the account, revokes all active login sessions, and returns their unfinished work to whoever originally assigned it, as drafts. It also sends a resignation notification and creates a full audit log entry.
  • You can’t resign yourself, and Managers can’t resign Admin or Manager accounts only an Admin can. The founding Admin who registered your organization can never be resigned by anyone.
