Getting Oriented
Projects vs. Tasks Views, Global Search & Keyboard Shortcuts
A few habits that save you clicks once the basics are second nature.
Projects vs. Tasks: Which View to Use
Projects and Tasks are two different lenses on the same work. Projects group things by initiative; Tasks group things by individual to-do.
To switch views:
- Use the main sidebar menu to jump directly between Projects and Tasks.
- In Projects, click into any project to see its tasks, files, deliverables, and team in one place.
- In Tasks, use the view tabs (All Tasks, My Tasks, Self Tasks) to change what’s shown without leaving the task list.
- Use filters within either view to narrow down by status, assignee, or due date.
Using Global Search
Global search lets you jump straight to a task, project, or file by name instead of clicking through menus.
To search:
- Click the search icon, usually near the top of the screen.
- Type a keyword, a task title, project name, or file name.
- Review the results, typically grouped by type (Projects, Tasks, Files).
- Click a result to open it directly.
Good to know:
- If you’re focused on “what do I need to do today,” Tasks → My Tasks is usually the fastest path; if you’re checking overall progress of an initiative, the Projects view gives you the bigger picture.
- Search results respect your access; you’ll only see items from projects you’re actually part of. If you’re not finding something, double-check the spelling or try a shorter, more general keyword.
- Because exact key combinations can change between updates, this article intentionally doesn’t list specific keys; always check the in-app shortcuts reference for the current list. If shortcuts aren’t available yet in your workspace, global search is the next-fastest way to get around.
